Your Manager At Work!

A voice in shaping our strategies and actions for Fire Prevention Management.

May 18th, 2023

We are proud of and grateful for the Illinois Valley Fire Resiliency Oversight Group (I.V. FROG), a collaborative partnership in the community who are working together to implement effective fuel reduction and forest fire prevention projects in the Illinois Valley of Oregon.

Being the manager here at Lone Mountain Resort Park in O’Brien, Oregon, one of my priorities is all the families the RV park houses. Currently, there are over 54 full-time people in our 35 residential RV spaces, mostly low or fixed-income, including 7 children under 18 years old.

My goal is to enhance the safety and well-being of our small community by reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires and improving forest health. These residents and our varied woodland creatures face a high vulnerability to wildfires and need support and aid in fire prevention management. I want to engage our efforts and give them a voice in shaping our strategies and actions.

Moreover, the owners of the park have generously committed to contributing a monetary amount to our community-wide fuel reduction efforts, proving their good neighborliness and civic responsibility.

We believe that every local resident deserves to be included and valued in fire resiliency efforts, regardless of their property status or income level. We seek grant funding for the Illinois Valley Fire Resiliency Oversight Group which shares our vision of equity and inclusion and who are willing to support innovative and impactful fire prevention for all of the Illinois Valley people and wildlife.

I want to thank Cheryl Nelson and the Illinois Valley Fire Resiliency Oversight Group for the heart they put into this valuable and extraordinary work.

I also want to thank you for your consideration.
